S’mores Graham Krispie Treats

Sorry I missed you guys last week – I was really sick! Luckily, I recovered quickly enough to make my brother a treat for his arrival home from college for the summer. I have had these S’mores Graham Krispies treats on my “Save Room for Dessert” board for awhile. They always caught my eye when I was going through my board looking for something to make but I just hadn’t found the right occasion until now.

I followed the recipe exactly as is and got the finished product below!

I liked these but I didn’t love them which was disappointing since I had wanted to make them for so long. My biggest complaint about them was that they were too dry – I was expecting them to be moist like a Rice Krispies treat but the marshmallow to cereal ratio wasn’t correct for that. Next time I would use less cereal to get them gooier. I would also put the cereal in a separate bowl next time and pour the marshmallow mix over the cereal rather than adding it into the same pot because it was incredibly difficult to stir and get an even coating on the cereal that way.

Though I wasn’t wowed by these I do think they have a lot of potential as a base for some different flavor combinations – craisin and chocolate chip? peanut butter chips? caramel chips? Really any kind of chip / dried fruit / nut could be added to these so the possibilities are endless and I think with a few tweaks these could be quite delicious. Overall, not my best Pinterest find but certainly not my worst.

If you have any interesting flavor combo ideas for these let me know in the comments!

Happy pinning!
